What did Doosan do to move from Stage I to Stage IV?

  • Stage I : we reduced Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel machines.
  • Stage II : we focused on reduction of NOx, Hydrocarbons (HC) and Particulate Matter (PM).
  • Stage III : we realised a major reduction in PM and a further reduction in Nox.
  • Stage IV : we reduced NOx levels drastically and also reduced PM again.

The emission values and the demands for compliance vary according to engine horsepower. Therefore, the extent and types of changes to our machines varied considerably.

However, a number of core improvements were applied to all our equipment, including turbo-charging, optimisation of the engine combustion system and use of High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) fuel injection systems.
