Doosan dealers from Middle East and Africa are welcomed to the EMEA region

Warm and sunny Dubai was the setting for a welcome meeting for the Doosan dealers from the Middle East and Africa, who officially join the EMEA region after completion of the territory transfer alignment initiative on 1 July 2011.

The meeting, which was held June 7-9 at the Towers Rotana Hotel in Dubai, was organized to explain the migration process, introduce the new team and demonstrate the goodwill, dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm on the part of the EMEA team leaders.

More than 35 individuals from 18 Doosan dealers from the Middle East and Africa, as well as 25 individuals from the leadership teams of A/P and E and EMEA, attended the meeting.

Opening the meeting on Tuesday morning, the welcoming addresses were given by Hee Eun Ahn, Executive Managing Director, Sales & Marketing, from A/P and E, and Scott Nelson, President of EMEA, followed by an explanation of the 3-day agenda by Kevin Lee, General Manager, Sales & KAM.

Norbert Donaberger, Vice President of Sales & Marketing EMEA, presented “Who is Who in EMEA“ while Thierry Deschamps, Territory Migration Project Leader, presented Frequently Asked Questions and Answers about the migration process.

In the afternoon after lunch, EMEA presentations covering Sales, Dealer development, Customer service teams and Credit, Parts, Service and Marketing Communication were given by the respective team leaders, followed by introductions from the dealers.

On Wednesday, the new dealers were split up into 3 groups to participate in rotating workshops led by Regional Directors Gaby Rhayem (Middle East) and Daniel Dupuy (Africa) as well as Giuliano Parodi, Vice President Aftermarket EMEA. 

In the evening, all participants shared a river cruise and Gala dinner on the sail boat Bateaux Dubai.

Summing up his impressions of the meeting, Thierry Deschamps noted that the initial concern and scepticism of the Doosan dealers at the onset of the meeting gave way to intense interest after introductions were made.  The new Doosan dealers were especially pleased to learn about the comprehensive sales, marketing, service and training support provided by the leadership teams in EMEA.
