Very Successful BAUMA for Doosan

Bauma 2010

At Bauma 2010, the largest ever in terms of exhibitors (around 3,150) and exhibition area, the new global alliance Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment (DI CE) demonstrated why it is now one of the leading full line equipment suppliers worldwide. Visitors to Bauma were able to see an extensive range of Heavy and Compact products on a 4,500 m² stand in the open area in the midst of all the major players in the construction equipment industry. The DI CE stand presented a powerful alliance of leading brands, adding to the Doosan Heavy Lines of equipment the Bobcat Compact Lines, Ingersoll Rand Portable Power products, Doosan Moxy articulated dump trucks and Montabert and Geith attachments.

Despite the severe disruption to air travel in Europe caused by the ash cloud from the volcano in Iceland, resulting in 17% less visitor attendance compared with Bauma 2007, there were still more than 415,000 visitors from 200 countries. For Doosan and Bobcat, Bauma was a success right from the start, with a clear focus on customers.
Franz Beckmann, Regional Director for Germany and Switzerland commented: "Even though many international customers were only able to arrive at Bauma towards the end of the week, we were pleasantly surprised to see how busy the stand was from Monday, the opening day of the exhibition. Throughout the week, visitors showed a keen interest in all Doosan and Bobcat products. And we are delighted with the sales concluded and leads generated during the show."
One of the main attractions was the Doosan hybrid excavator as well as the award-winning futuristic Doosan crawler excavator. The display of new Doosan products was comprehensive, ranging from the largest, 71.5 tonne DX700LC crawler excavator, to the new DL420 wheel loader, the Doosan Moxy MT41 articulated dump truck, and the DT160 high capacity telescopic handler previewed at Bauma.
On the compact side, there were also many innovative products. The new generation of Bobcat skidsteer and tracked loaders, the latest E45 & E50 excavators and the new rotary telescopic handlers were displayed in different environments such as landscaping, road and general construction applications. The wide variety of attachments demonstrated the versatility of our compact equipment. The landscaping area in front of the main building, with real grass, the only real tree of the Bauma open air stands and a row of cafe-like tables for customers and visitors, was a great success.
As always, the Demoshow was the cornerstone of our stand. Day after day, hour after hour, it continued to attract numerous spectators. Doosan and Bobcat demonstrators excelled in showing what our equipment can do on job sites... and even more - dancing excavators were certainly one of the highlights of the show!!
Several videos of the demoshow were taken, some of which can be found on YouTube.
Most Importantly, the ONE Doosan concept made a very positive and strong debut at BAUMA.
From the East entrance to the trains circulating on the fairground, from the stand booth reception desk to the adverts in the trade press, the ONE Doosan message was visible everywhere: An alliance of forces to accelerate your success. To support and reinforce this message, a "Full Liner" product flyer as well as a booklet to introduce Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment - its vision, products, services, as well as an overview of its presence in EMEA - were made available to stand visitors at Bauma.
Last but not least, at Bauma 2010 Bobcat won two major design engineering awards chosen by readers of Diesel Progress, one of the leading global publications for the equipment industry. The new generation Bobcat M Series loaders and E35 zero tail swing mini-excavator were both voted as winners in their respective machine categories, capturing two out of three awards in the Compact Equipment sector. The award ceremony took place on Thursday 22.04 in Hall B3. Giuliano Parodi (Vice President Compact Marketing & Marketing Services DICE EMEA), Tom Raes (Business Unit Director for Compact Excavators-EMEA) and Mike Wetzel (Senior Manager of Engineering from Bobcat NA) represented Bobcat.
The closing report by the Bauma fair organizers, http://www.bauma.de/en/Press/Closingreport delivers a strong, positive opening message: "Bauma 2010 has marked a turnaround in the international construction machinery industry, ushering in the hoped-for change in sentiment".
Likewise, Doosan and Bobcat hope that the stimulus and enthusiasm created by the fair will help to accelerate the business upturn. We are confident that our new organization will enable us, working together with you, our partners, to play an increasingly important role in the Construction Equipment business.
We are dedicated to accelerate your success!
