Doosan in the news

A ONE Doosan Press Event in Dobris

Under the supervision of Roy Haaker, Product Manager Articulated Dump Trucks, Paul Deder, journalist for the German magazine Baupraxiszeitung (Construction Practice Newspaper), powers the all-wheel drive MT41 through the mud

The Doosan – Bobcat Training Center in Dobris, Czech Republic, hosted during the week of 11-15 April successive groups of journalists from Italy, France, Finland, UK, Germany and Poland. The purpose of their visit was to see and operate several new Bobcat Compact and Doosan Heavy products which have been launched since the beginning of this year.

This was the second press event of this nature since the creation of ONE Doosan at the beginning of 2010. The journalists were given an overview of the various new products followed by a walk-around and demonstration of the machines. They also had the opportunity to drive and operate the machines.

With the exception of the program for the Italian group, typically Bobcat Compact products were covered in the morning, while the afternoon was reserved for Doosan Heavy products.

Frederic Lecat, Product Manager Loaders and Utility Vehicles, started the press event on Monday afternoon with a presentation to the group of Italian journalists of the new 700 series Bobcat loaders and the 3400D utility vehicle.

This press event was the first time that journalists had the opportunity to drive the new generation Bobcat TL360 and TL470 telescopic handler models.  An important innovative feature is the asymmetric cab design which provides the operator an unobstructed view across the entire rear of the machine.

New Doosan products presented at Dobris included the DX235NLC and DX380LC crawler excavators and the DT70 and DT160 telescopic handlers.  Thanks to its narrow overall width of only 2.54 m, the DX235NLC appeals especially to contractors and users in Italy, as well as in other countries, where the narrow width is an important feature to save on transport cost from one job site to another.

With only a few scoops of the bucket, the DX380LC loaded the Doosan Moxy MT41 articulated dump truck before the latter was driven around a circuit of soft, uneven terrain, demonstrating clearly the design features which enable the truck to negotiate its way through the most challenging terrain.

The program was purposely kept flexible throughout the week in order to meet the specific needs and wishes of the various journalists.  In addition to becoming acquainted with the new products, several journalists who had not yet visited Dobris were given a tour of the compact equipment factory.

The journalists were delighted with the organization, hospitality and, most importantly, the information and practical opportunities offered to see and operate the new machines from Bobcat and Doosan.
