Doosan held a ceremony on July 21 to donate its construction equipment to The Open at the Royal Lytham & St. Annes Links Golf Club, the venue of The Open Championship in the U.K. In attendance at the event were Peter Dawson, Chairman of The R&A, and Yongmaan Park, Chairman of Doosan Group, among other dignitaries.

Being Korea’s sole official patron of The Open, one of the world’s four major golf tournaments, Doosan held the donation ceremony to benefit The R&A, the organizer of the event.

The items of donated construction equipment are mini excavators (DX80R) from Doosan Infracore. Unlike ordinary products, this model has no protruding tail section, allowing efficient operation in a narrow space.

When installed with various types of attachments, the excavator can be used in the overall management of golf course facilities, including the repair of spectator seats, and golf course management.

Doosan has sponsored The Open Championship for three consecutive years since 2010 in a bid to elevate the brand awareness of Global Doosan in Europe and the Americas.
