Doosan DX340LC makes room for new bridge

Whenever highest precision and efficiency are required, Müller und Sohn relies on their powerful Doosan crawler excavator. Arnsdorf – Approximately 4,700 people live in the Saxon community of Arnsdorf near Radeberg, with 1,000 of them in Fischbach, a village belonging to the larger community. The two villages are separated not only by the Schwarze Röder river but also by a two-track railway line. These tracks made demolition of the old bridge between Fischbach and Arnsdorf at the end of March 2012 a particularly challenging task.

"We had a tight schedule to keep to, so that the railway line could be used again after two days", explained Maik and Toni Müller, the two managing directors at the Müller und Sohn GmbH Company of Röderau which had been commissioned to demolish the bridge. Their Doosan DX340LC was exactly the right machine for this job. "It is characterised not only by its excellent handling qualities but also wins out against the competition because of its enormous productivity and efficiency." The engine of the DX340LC delivers a powerful 184 kW (250 PS) and has a comparatively low fuel consumption due to its compact dimensions.

Site clearing and demolition operations – the right attachments for every task

The Doosan excavator not only cut a fine figure during the actual demolition itself but also during the preparation and follow-up work, such as the removal of the railway tracks and the demolition debris. Numerous attachments make the DX340LC a real all-rounder. Demolition shears, pulverisers, sorting grapples together with excavation and sifting buckets were used on the Arnsdorf site to carry out the various demolition, sorting and loading operations. During the entire operation, the DX340LC was operated by the driver Thomas Zöller who refuses to part with his favourite excavator, as company director Maik Müller tells us: "He was actually supposed to change to a competitor machine once the demolition site was finished, but during a talk with his managers he declined to do so. He didn't want to work without his 'wonderful machine'".

Regional aftermarket support and customer-oriented services

For Toni Müller, who is responsible for scheduling and ensuring the operational readiness of the machines, a further strong point of the Doosan DX340LC is the service and aftermarket support provided by his construction machinery dealers. The Eberle-Hald Group is the exclusive Doosan distributor in Saxony, with 32 employees working at the offices in Kesselsdorf, Coswig and Chemnitz, and is one of the top performing construction machinery dealers in the region. The company places a great deal of value on its exemplary repair and spare parts service for the products of numerous leading manufacturers. Eberle-Hald's customer-oriented aftermarket support was also a compelling argument for company directors Maik and Toni Müller.
